Bite the Bullet: How not to 'kill' your presentation with your slides

How many times have you sat in a presentation and had the presenter say "I know you can’t see this, but this is what it says…"? View practical tips to avoid having your viewers say "A fool with a tool is still a fool" about your presentations. Apply these tips to your next presentation and look more organized and professional. Special bonus: See how to navigate professionally through your presentation without "whiplash."
Topics include:
- Identify why you would use or not use visual media for particular presentation settings
- Identify 5 verbal, 5 visual principles that will improve your slides dramatically
- Explore navigation and presentation tips for slides that will increase your professionalism
Note: This is not a hands-on training in Microsoft® PowerPoint® software, but rather a program about how to write and deliver better slide presentations. I'll present many tips that will help you with PowerPoint, but we aren't doing actual technical software training.

Dr. Elizabeth (Bette) Frick teaches writing and communication to employees of corporations and governments in the Denver Metro area, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Alaska. Her interactive classes and practical workshops help everyone improve communication skills.
Bette holds a PhD in English from the University of Minnesota and served as president of the Twin Cities chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) from 2003-2004. She is a Fellow of STC.
